Betty Nyman Obituary
Betty Mae Nyman, 88, of Kephart Plaza, Lock Haven, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born July 14, 1930 in Friedens, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ira and Iva Viola Bobbs Leasure.
On March 23, 1951, Betty married her love, Lewis A. Nyman, who preceded her in death in 1996.
She was employed in the Housekeeping Department of Lock Haven Hospital until her retirement.
Betty attended the Lock Haven First Church of Christ.
Her life revolved around family, especially cherishing the time spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are five children: Judy (Ward) Reeder of Lock Haven, Lewis (Deb) Nyman, Jr. of Harleysville, Carl “Ed” (Joyce) Nyman of Beech Creek, Linda (Tom) Kessinger of Flemington and Lori (Jeff) Lewis of Florida; her sister, Dorothy Stahl of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Betty’s life with interment to follow at Blanchard Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to The Gatehouse, c/o Susuqehanna Health Foundation, through the funeral home.
