Calvin L. Winner

Calvin L. Winner, Sr., 78, of Lock Haven passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna Hospital, Williamsport.

Born January 29, 1941 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Russell L. and Mary Shoemaker Winner.

Calvin was a 1958 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

On June 10, 1961, he married his love, the former Barbara Walizer, with whom he celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage.

Calvin was an electrician, retiring from Strouse Electric in 2003.

In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman and hunter.

More recently he enjoyed sitting on his porch, watching the hummingbirds, baking and riding around on his golf cart. Most cherished, though, was the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Barbara Winner of Lock Haven, he is survived by two sons, Calvin (Mary) Winner, Jr. and Wayne Winner, both of Lock Haven; a daughter, Sheila Conklin of Lock Haven; three brothers: Richard (Trudy) Winner, Dennis Winner (Kathleen Merrill) and William Winner; two sisters, Beverly (Rick) Harold and Deanna (Budd) Jodun; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff) Raymond, Matthew Winner, Kyle Winner (Lani Wheeler) and Ronald (Brooke) Storeman; and seven grandchildren: Ashton Damien, Cameron, Molly, Maddox, Maxwell and Eli.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Timothy.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 12 Noon at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions in Calvin’s name may be made to Lock Haven Catholic School Building Fund through the funeral home.
