F. Othea Lamey, 91, of Loganton passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born April 7, 1928 in Loganton, she was a daughter of the late Alton and Fleda Knepp Currin.
After graduating from Sugar Valley High School, Othea attended Lock Haven Teacher’s College.
On March 27, 1948, she married the love of her life, Nevin M. Lamey, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage before his passing on March 10, 2017.
In her younger years, she was employed by Sylvania before moving to Rochester where both she and Nevin were employed by Eastman Kodak. Later, she was a school bus driver for Schrack’s Valley Services until her retirement.
When younger she attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies’ Guild.
Othea served as a both a 4-H and Girl Scout Leader while her children were growing up.
She enjoyed crafting and making flower arrangements.
Othea also loved traveling and especially cherished the winters that she spent with Nevin in Florida after retirement.
Most important to her was her family whom she lived for.
Surviving are three daughters: Kathy Boone of Lock Haven, Lori (Gary) Brungard of Lock Haven and Kelly (Steve) Conklin of Downingtown; her brother, Alton (Anita) Currin, Jr. of Alabama; six grandchildren: Greg, Traci, John, Scott, Andrew and Elizabeth; and four great grandchildren: Julie, Jaden, Joshua and Brock.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Dewy Currin.
Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.
