Helen Shade Obituary
Helen Sue Shade, of 123 Commerce St., Lock Haven, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
Sue was the daughter of Fred and Mary Packer.
On March 28, 1951 she married her husband, George Shade, who passed away on January 16, 2007.
Sue worked nine years at General Armature, starting after she graduated from Lock Haven High School. She also worked at Lock Haven Laundry for 36 years.
She served on the Board of Directors of Community Connections, replacing her husband, George.
Sue was a member of the East Main Street United Methodist Church and a member of their Ever-Ready Class for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Keith (Trish) of Concord, N.C. and Darrell of Mackeyville; two daughters, Kim and Lisa, both of Lock Haven; one grandson, Bryan of Flemington; two granddaughters, Kristin of Bellefonte and Ashley of Wilkes-Barre; and two great grandchildren, Caleb and Caitlyn.
Along with her parents and husband, George, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Shade; two brothers, Don Allen and George Packer; and three sisters: Dorothy Smith, Helen Weaver and Mary Shank.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 4 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Pastor Allison Grove officiating. Private burial will take place at Sunnyside Cemetery, Mill Hall.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 3 P.M. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in Sue’s name may be made to either Faith United Methodist Church or Crafts Inc. through the funeral home.
