James A. Caris, 81, a resident of the Susque-View Home, Lock Haven, formerly of 1050 Long Run Road, Mill Hall, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the nursing home.
Born February 5, 1937, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Earl and Margaret Wadsworth Caris.
Jim was a 1955 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School and joined the U.S Army in March, 1960, from which he was honorably discharged in February, 1966.
He married Patricia A. Winkleman, who died in 2017.
He worked for many years at Clinton Paper Company and, later, Hammermill Paper Company and Cerro Metal.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching baseball.
Surviving are two step-sons, Ken (Pam) Winkleman of Port Orange, Florida and Bill (Stacie) Winkleman of Middlesex, New Jersey; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; Patricia A. Caris; three brothers; and two sisters.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. There will be no public visitation.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
