Jan Bausinger Obituary

Jan R. Bausinger, 73, of Beech Creek passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home.

Born April 22, 1945 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late LeRoy “Bud” and Kathryn Wagner Bausinger.

Jan was a 1963 graduate of Williamsport Area High School.

On March 28, 1986 he married his love, the former Betty Esenwine, who survives.

Jan was employed as a Truck Salesman by Vancampen Motors in Williamsport before owning and operating the Waterville Hotel until his retirement in July 2008. After retiring, he worked for the Central Pennsylvania Auto Auction.

He was a member of Rote United Methodist Church.

Jan was a lifetime member of the Tiadaghton Sportsman’s Club, a benefactor member of the NRA, and a member of the Wild Turkey Federation, Jersey Shore Elks, Travelers Protective Association and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.

He enjoyed hunting, shopping, and taking scenic rides looking for wildlife. Most important to Jan was the time he spent with his family, whether it be at camp or attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

In addition to his wife, Betty Bausinger of Beech Creek, he is survived by three children: George (Dawn) Bausinger of Elimsport, Jon (Heather) Bausinger of Oval and Lori (Dutch) Rinker of Jersey Shore; his brother, Robert (Evie) Bausinger of Milton; seven grandchildren: Megan, Jake, Katie, Breanna, Kendra, Sophia and Elijah; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Probst.

A Memorial Service for Jan will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Rote United Methodist Church, 102 Beagle Rd., Mill Hall with Pastor Frank Hartzel officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the church on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
