John L. Boyer, Sr., 84, of Lock Haven passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born January 2, 1935 in Avis, he was the son of the late Harold and Margaret Masden Boyer.
In 1957 he married his love, the former Jane Shoemaker, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.
John was employed at Woolrich, retiring from there after 46 years.
He attended Swissdale United Methodist Church.
John enjoyed the working outdoors, especially mowing the lawn and washing the car. He also liked watching the deer from his window.
Along with his wife, Jane Boyer, he is survived by two sons, John (Debra) Boyer, Jr. and Gregory (Maritha) Boyer, both of Lock Haven; four grandchildren: Jennifer Worden, Matthew Boyer, Rebecca Robinson and Amy Worden; and ten great grandchildren: Blake, Abbey, Ella, Cole, Aaron, Rylee, Kayla, Hannah, Emma and Ava.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Boyer.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 2 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Pastor Jay Saldana officiating. Burial will follow at Swissdale Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday from 1 P.M. until the time of the service.
