John Shade Obituary
John H. Shade, Jr., 73, of Lock Haven passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
Born September 5, 1946 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late John H. and Elizabeth Shade.
John graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1965.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On April 20, 1974 he married the former Janet Copenhaver who preceded him in death in 2010.
John was employed at Woolrich Woolen Mills for many years. He then delivered parts for Napa Auto Parts.
He was a member of the American Legion, Lock Haven.
John enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving is his son, Scott (Tracy) Shade of Lock Haven; two step-sons, Donald Nyman of Woolrich and Steven Nyman of Allenwood; a brother, Clifford Shade of Mill Hall; a sister, Bonnie Welch of Beech Creek; six grandchildren: Dameon and Clarissa Ilgen and Brenna, Tatum, Ada and Nathan Shade; and numerous step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 7 P.M. at Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 5 P.M. until the time of the service.
