Joseph Caprio Obituary
Joseph E. Caprio, 76, of Lock Haven, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Lock Haven on September 27, 1942, the son of the late Gerard M. and Margaret M. Bills Caprio.
Joe graduated in the class of 1960 from Lock Haven High School and obtained his degree in drafting from Williamsport Area Community College.
On Februrary 8, 1964, he married the former Cynthia E. Powers, who survives.
Joe was employed at M.W. Kellogg Company of Williamsport prior to working at Piper Aircraft as a Draftsman from 1963 to 1985. Following Piper’s closing, Joe worked at First Quality until his retirement in 1997.
He was member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish attending St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Joe was a life member of the Lock Haven Elk’s Club and the Lock Haven Son’s of Italy as well as a past member of the Military Vehicle Collectors Club.
He had a passion for collecting and restoring antique military vehicles and other military memorabilia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph M. (Lori) Caprio of Mill Hall; a daughter, Mary Beth (Charles) Aber of Bellefonte; a brother-in-law, Edward (Kathy) Powers of Lemoyne; six grandchildren, Rhiannon (Owen) Wilkinson, Dylan (Lindsay) Caprio, Gavin Caprio and Cierra, Mariah and Mason Aber; three great grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Lucy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11 A.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Deacon Chip Young officiating. A committal service will follow at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Lock Haven.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. with an Elks Ritual Memorial Service beginning at 7:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Lock Haven Area Jaycees.
