Paul J. “PJ” Shaffer, Sr., 87, of 23 King Arthur Dr., Mill Hall, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 and Haven Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Lock Haven.
He was born in Lock Haven on November 25, 1931, the son of the late Irvin N. and Dora M. Beck Shaffer and raised on James Street in Flemington.
PJ was a Veteran of the United States Army.
In April of 1968 he married the former Adaline N. Spicer, whom survives.
PJ was employed by the Pennsylvania Rail Road and its successor companies as a Track Man for many years before his retirement.
Whether it be tinkering with things around the house or going for walks, PJ enjoyed keeping himself busy with various tasks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Grace L. Stark of Bloomsburg, Paul J. (Tammy) Shaffer, Jr. of Loganton and Edna M. (Paul) Bartlett of Castanea; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Stark.
A time for viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
Burial will Military Honors will take place on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11 A.M. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mackeyville Rd., Mill Hall.
