Richard Hull Obituary

Richard E. Hull, 77 of Lock Haven, passed into heavenly glory January 3, 2019 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 25, 1941 in Lock Haven, Rich was the son of Anna Blazina Hull and the late Arthur Lynn Hull.

He graduated in 1959 from Immaculate Conception High School in Lock Haven and attended Lock Haven State College.

On January 30, 1965, he married Patricia Ann Johnson at Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Lock Haven. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year, or as Rich would say, their 108th anniversary; 54 years for Patty and 54 years for Rich.

Rich grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Mackeyville. Later he worked as a salesman for Winner Meat Packing. In the early 1960s, he and some friends formed the local dance band, the Monarchs. He was the percussionist and had fond memories of performing around northern Pennsylvania.

Rich and his wife owned and operated Rich’s Grocery in Lock Haven and enjoyed cooking together and sharing their culinary skills throughout the years.

Rich worked for Corning Glass in State College for 25 years and a few years after at First Quality. After retirement, Rich enjoyed spending time at their summer cottage on Pine Creek and traveling to see friends and family. He especially loved his three grandchildren and attending all of their special events throughout the years.

Rich was a member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Lock Haven and the Knights of Columbus. He was very active in the church, and especially enjoyed volunteering at church festivals, dinners and the annual Saint Agnes Fair.

Rich is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughters Maria (Christopher) Campbell of Lebanon, PA and Christine (John) Cordary of Hudson Oaks, Texas, grandchildren Andrew Campbell, Arden Campbell and Ava Grace Cordary. He is also survived by his mother, Anna M. Hull, a brother Robert Hull and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, sisters Florine and Mary Ann and a brother David.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 East Church Street, Lock Haven from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, with the Knights of Columbus service beginning at 6:30 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Joseph Orr at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 3 East Walnut Street, Lock Haven, on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM.

Memorial contributions in Rich’s name may be made to Holy Spirit Parish in Lock Haven.
