Robert S. Borner, Sr., 63, of Flemington, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on March 19, 1956 the son of the late Michael and Genevieve Hobson Borner.
On May 14, 1977, he married the former Ruth Bletz who survives in Flemington.
Bob resided in Connecticut until relocating to Jersey Shore in 1985. He was employed at Grumman Allied Industries of Montgomery as a Quality Control Supervisor until his retirement in 1997.
He was a member of Independent Hose Fire Company of Jersey Shore for 11 years until moving to Flemington in 1997 where he became a member of the Lock Haven Fire Police Ambulance for 2 years. Bob then joined Goodwill Fire Company, Station 7 of Flemington where he served for 22 years.
He was a member of Hope River Church of Jersey Shore.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed working on vehicles. He liked watching TV, especially Ice Road Truckers, Naked and Afraid and westerns.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Robert S. (Laurie) Borner, Jr. of Lock Haven, Trina M. (Tim) Showers of Lock Haven and Tanya L. (Bobby) Miller-Mitchell of Castanea; two grandchildren, Conner James Michael Borner and Joshua Michael Miller-Mitchell; three step-grandchildren, Kase Russell, Kayleigh Showers and Nick Russell; a step-great grandson, Wyatt Mincer; and a half-sister, Elizabeth Skene of Connecticut.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert S. Borner, III.
Bob’s “Final Ride” with fire company honors may be witnessed on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12:30 P.M. along Frederick Street in Flemington followed by a time of visitation from 1 to 3 P.M. at the Red Eye Center, 516 Canal St., Flemington, PA 17745 with a Memorial Service officiated by Chaplain Scott Willits of Station 7 beginning at 3 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, PA 17745 to assist with funeral expenses.
