Anthony Anastos Obituary

Anthony Peter "Tony" Anastos of Lock Haven passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at UMPC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born in Lock Haven in 1966, he was the son of Stella Kakarous Anastos and the late Peter L. Anastos.

Along with his two brothers, Louis and Phillip, he co-owned the Texas Lunch, Anastos Brothers Auto Sales & he poured his heart and soul into Stella A's Restaurant.

After graduating from Lock Haven High School in 1984, he attended Lock Haven University.

He spent his entire life in Lock Haven where he will be remembered as a warm and welcoming businessman with an infectious smile. He supported Lock Haven's goals and causes with generosity.

His great passion was sports. In his youth he played baseball and football and was a wrestler. As an adult he was an enthusiastic booster of Lock Haven teams as well as the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Tony lived, loved and talked sports.

His side gig was predicting the weather.

He served for nine years on the Lock Haven University Foundation Board and for the last four years as Chairman of its Athletics Committee. He also served on the Foundation Executive Committee for five years. In addition, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Besides his mother and brothers, he is survived by his sisters-in-law Jacqui Anastos and Catherine Anastos, his nephew Peter, nieces Alexis and Olivia Anastos whom he adored and step niece Caitlin Sweeney. He is also survived by his long-time companion Mary Kathryn Kline of Lock Haven and her children Nick, Lissa, and Kathryn.

A private funeral service will be held for his family. Interment will be at the Rest Haven Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tony's name may be made to Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Lock Haven or Chestnut Grove Recreation Authority, which is a 501 (C) (3) youth sports initiative benefitting the local community with state-of-the-art- facilities to play sports.
