Calvin Brooks Obituary
Calvin Eugene Brooks, 67, of 150 5th St., Renovo, passed away March 15, 2020 at his residence with his loving wife at his side.
Born April 11, 1952 in Renovo, he was the son of Elda & Wesley Kurtz of Renovo and Michael Brooks of Williamsport.
Calvin was a 1971 graduate of Williamsport High School.
In 1972 he married Karon A. McGonigal of Lock Haven. They would have celebrated 48 years of marriage on September 23, 2020.
Through the years, Calvin worked at ACI, Berwick, Chem-Con and E. Keelers. He also was a bartender at several establishments in Renovo, including the West Branch Social Club, Keystone Hotel, Riverview Inn and Eagles FOE 516. Calvin also enjoyed visiting friends on his scooter.
He was a fireman for the West Branch Hose Company in the mid-to-late 80’s where he was a social member, trustee and served on the board.
Calvin also had served as a council member for Renovo Borough.
In addition to his loving wife, Karon, he is survived by a son, Franklin (Kimberly) Brooks of Carbondale; two daughters, Joy (Michael) Winkleman and Laura (Ronald) Stoltz of Renovo; six grandchildren, Ariel, Jessica, Khloe, Joshua, Rachael and Madalynn; and three great grandchildren, Ella, Gianna and Natalie.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Brooks of York; two sisters, Francis Kay Oldt of New Columbia and Josephine Lynn; as well as two infant brothers.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
