Daryl Stover Obituary

Daryl James Stover, 69, of Rote passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 9, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Born January 27, 1950 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late William and Betty Dorman Stover.

Daryl was a 1967 graduate of Lock Haven High School and then attended Williamsport Area Community College.

On July 19, 1969 he married his love, the former Linda Galbraith, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

By trade, Daryl was a welder. He was employed by Hammermill Paper Co. until 1987 and then started doing bridge work.

He grew up in and became a member of Wright Street Church of Christ.

Daryl was also a member of both Central Mountain ATV Association and Bald Eagle Beagle Club.

He was an avid hunter who enjoyed four-wheeling and playing cards with his buddies. He was also a fantastic Penn State wrestling fan.

Daryl loved spending time with his favorite companion, his dog Mandy, who he enjoyed running at his camp as well as the Bald Eagle Beagle Club.

Most important to him, though, was his family who he always made his utmost priority.

In addition to his wife, Linda Stover of Rote, he is survived by his daughter, Wendy (L.B.) Crust of Howard; a granddaughter, Kaley (Aaron) Ely of Howard; a beloved great grandson, Parker Ely; a brother, Wayne (Gail) Stover of Howard; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of his family.

Memorial contributions in Daryl’s name may be made to Penn State Wrestling Club, P.O. Box 1103, State College, Pa 16804.
