David Glossner Obituary

David Craig Glossner, 85, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at his home. He was born in Lock Haven, the son of the late Milton E. and Charlotte (Barger) Glossner.
Mr. Glossner graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1956 and Lock Haven State College (now Lock Haven University), summa cum laude, in January 1961. He was a life member of the Lock Haven University Alumni Association, a former member of the Lock Haven University Wrestling Club, a member of the Clinton County Sports Hall of Fame, a life member of Friends of the Ross Library and a life member of the Clinton County Historical Society. He was president of the Clinton County Genealogical Society, past vice-president of the Sugar Valley Historical Society and a member of the board of directors for the Beech Creek/Marsh Creek Watershed Heritage Museum.
He was also a member of the Centre County Genealogical Society, the Penns Valley Area Historical Museum Association, the Jersey Shore Historical Society, the Lycoming County Genealogical Society, the Mid-Atlantic Germanic Society and a charter member of the National Constitution Center. Additionally, he was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity.
He worked nearly one year at American Color in Lock Haven, and spent about 38 years, including part time while going to college, at Trylon Chemicals and its successor companies, and retired from Henkel Corp. (now Pulcra) in 1996. His career was about equally divided by time spent in Castanea, Mauldin, SC and Landsdale, with about equal time in the technical area and in sales, retiring as National Sales Manager, Specialty Chemicals and Intermediates. He was a partner for two years in Geering-Glossner in the chemical sales business. He worked independently as a manufacturing representative for several years before retiring from full time work in July 2000, when he moved back to Lock Haven. For the past several years, he worked part time and sold industrial chemicals as a manufacturers' representative for Ethox Chemicals, LLC of Greenville, SC. He was life time member of the American Chemical Society.
Mr. Glossner's hobbies included collecting Indian artifacts, rock and fossils. He did volunteer work for the Ross Library and enjoyed KC Net computer classes.
Mr. Glossner leaves his loving wife, the former Kathleen Quinn Patelmo, who he married in Hatfield on February 14, 1987. He also leaves the following children: Joy Marie (and husband, Gene) Reece of South Carolina, Raymond Glossner of South Carolina and Jeff Glossner of Renovo.
Also surviving are Patelmo step-sons: Mario of Lansdale, Joseph of Lansdale and Philip (and wife, Annette) of Ambler. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons, D. Craig, III and Edward.
Following his wishes, there will be no funeral services.
