Donald W. Buskirk, 91, of Rote passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Susque View Home, Lock Haven.
Born May 28, 1930 in DuBois, he was a son of the late Charles and Frances (Jones) Buskirk.
Buzzy was a 1948 graduate of Mill Hall High School.
He served in the United States Army during WWII and later served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
On August 18, 1956, he married his love, the former Lois Sorgen, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage before her passing in 1998.
Buzzy was employed by Piper Aircraft for 27.5 years before their closing. He then worked at Phillips Wood Products for 7 years until his retirement in 1992. Buzzy also bartended at Benji's.
He was a member of the Bald Eagle Beagle Club for 61 years- and the last living member of the "original eight." He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Castanea Fire Company Social Hall and American Legion, Beech Creek.
Buzzy was an avid hunter.
He loved his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
Surviving are his children, Craig L. (Lori) Buskirk of Beech Creek and Letti D. (Lee) Heggenstaller of Salona; five grandchildren: Crystal Pierce, Chadd Buskirk, Eric Buskirk, Quinn Walker and Kyle Heggenstaller; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Lois Buskirk, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard C. Buskirk.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2021 from 5 until 7 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
Memorial contributions in Buzzy's name may be made to the Clinton County SPCA through the funeral home.
