Leonard Embick Obituary

Leonard D. "Len" or "Jaggers" Embick, 86, passed away April 6, 2024 at Haven Place, Lock Haven with his loving wife holding his hand.
Born on September 27, 1937 to the late Raymond Embick and Mary (Lehman) Hollenbaugh Held, he was raised by his paternal grandparents, Milton and Mary (Cashner) Embick. He was loved and accepted as a brother by Larue, Lucille, Electa, Theora and Earl who have all preceded him in death.
On June 9, 1956, he married the love of his life, Dolores R. Scaff, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.
Leonard served in the U.S. Navy and National Guard.
He worked at Piper Aircraft and Pennsylvania House Furniture as well as for various trucking companies.
Leonard was a member of the V.F.W., Lock Haven.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener, but his favorite times were spent with his family. "Pap" was sharp-witted and could fill a book with "Leonardisms." He made sure that everyone felt welcome in his home and that there was always room at the table for one more.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Denise (Chris) Oechler, Michael (Marilou) Embick, Jean (Lucien) Snook and Laurie (Guy) Confer; 11 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. Also surviving is a step-brother, Charles Norris; brothers, Roger Mitterling and Jim Hollenbaugh; sisters, Peggy Held and Sandra Jarecki; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lauren K. Embick; a grandson, Lucien M. Snook, III; sister, Janice Gates; step-brother, Keith Norris; and step-mother, Nellie Embick.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 1-5 PM at Sugar Valley Lions' Club Ball Field, Pavillion #1.
