Michael Spangler Obituary

Michael Dale Spangler, Sr., 71, a longtime resident of Eagleville, PA, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, November 26, 2020.

Michael was born March 4, 1949 to the late William and Ruth Spangler and brother of the late Thomas Spangler, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his best friend and wife of 46 years, Diane Spangler, on October 23, 2020.

Mike was a lifelong member of the Beech Creek American Legion.

His love of NASCAR ceased with the death of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. in the Winston Cup race on February 18, 2001. He enjoyed listening to Classic Rock and watching classic television shows such as The Andy Griffith Show, Gun Smoke and The Walton’s. He also loved reading Westerns with his favorite author being Louis L’Amour. Mike had a natural green thumb and was able to grow plants for all to enjoy. Rest assured, he is rejoicing in Heaven with the love of his life.

He is survived by his children: Lori Spangler, Tim Yost, Tammy (Rob) Young, Shawn Spangler, Michael Spangler, Jr., Misty Shade, Missy Shade, Shannon Spangler and Angie (Tracie) Green; twenty-two grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren with another great-grandchild due in the upcoming year.

Per Mike’s request, there will be no formal services held.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven, PA 17745.
