Phyllis Marie Colacino passed away on July 12, 2026, peacefully and at rest in her Lock Haven home, at the age of 89. Phyllis was born in Lock Haven, on February 1st. 1937, to Guiseppe (Joseph) and Mary Carmella (Marasco) Colacino.
Phyllis grew up on Walnut Street, in the First Ward of Lock Haven, the youngest of three siblings. She graduated in 1954 from IC Catholic High School, in Lock Haven, and shortly thereafter attended Saint Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, in Philadelphia, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with the Class of 1958. She answered her calling as an RN at Divine Providence Hospital, where she initiated the formation of the IV team, and earned many other awards and accolades for her dedication to her patients.
Phyllis was a devout Catholic and a life-long member of Saint Agnes Holy Parish, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Rosary Altar Society and church choir. Phyllis was also a life member, and longtime secretary, of Alpine Star Lodge. Countless hours were devoted by Phyllis, and her very dear friends, to serve her community and her faith; being a true ambassador of her Italian heritage.
Phyllis was well travelled and was very fond of trips to the Atlantic Shore, with Rehoboth Beach being her favorite. She was also a fan of Penn State Football and the Philadelphia Eagles. Cooking, baking, entertaining guests, sewing, and crocheting were just some of the things she was exceptionally skilled at, and found great joy. She also fulfilled a life time dream by going on a transatlantic cruise on the Queen Elizabeth. She lived her life in the service and dedication to others, especially her parents.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest brother, Joseph Jr., his wife Sherley, and another sister-in-law, Sharon (Francis).
The torch of Phyllis' unselfish deeds will be carried on by her brother, Francis, of Painted Post, NY; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, parishioners, and friends.
