Thomas Gray Obituary
Thomas Edward Gray, 81, of Beech Creek passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing, Lock Haven.
Born November 25, 1938 in Orviston, he was a son of the late Herbert and Henrietta Lomison Gray.
Tom was a 1955 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Cold War and then in the Army Reserves.
On December 5, 1958 he married his love, the former Donna Sementelli, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage before her passing in 2008.
After retiring from Textron Lycoming, Tom began driving rollback for Central Pennsylvania Auto Auction as well as doing security for the pipeline.
Tom was a member of the Union County Sportsman’s Club.
He was a great baseball player- having played for Orviston Little League, Lock Haven High School where he won a batting championship and Centre County League’s Oriviston team.
Tom was an avid hunter, claiming the first day of hunting season as his favorite day of the year. He also enjoyed fishing, going to camp and taking rides- which often included looking for deer and a stop for ice cream.
He was a Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan.
Surviving are three daughters: Sally (Tim) McGill of Beech Creek, Sheila (Rick) Peter of Salona and Kelly Bryan of Lock Haven; two brothers, Irvin (Betty) Gray of Blanchard and Tim (Vicky) Gray of Warriors Mark; his sister, Loretta (Paul) Pletcher of Blanchard; eight grandchildren: Erin (Colby) Welshans, Sam (Jordan) McGill, Ethan McGill, Jamie Peter, Todd Peter, Selena (Chris) Soo, Ashley (Jake) Hileman and Sarah (Kyle) Madden-Cox; and eight great grandchildren: Collins, Parker Kate, Alexis, Conner, Roan Avery, Wren Lee, Keller Owen and Brooks Cogan.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Packer.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 10 A.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745 with Rev. Alan Eckenroad officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 until 8 P.M.
Memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to either Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Medical Research Foundation or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
